Pandemic

This 32-page collection, which I’m still not sure whether to call a book, a comic or a zine, features drawings from my sketchbook made during the Covid-19 pandemic.

These were made in response to various aspects of the story as it evolved. They’re not really satirical in any conventional sense but were intended to somehow capture the strange, disconcerting mood of the times.

I would digitally colour up the drawings and subsequently post them to social media while they were still relatively topical. Over time, the sketches developed a distinct look of their own and until now they’ve only seen the light of day on social media, during the brief moments in the news cycle when they were relevant. To my entirely biased mind, when bundled together like this, they still present a just-about recognisable snapshot of a memorably weird period in our recent history.

Anyway, that’s my justification for assembling this slim volume and offering it up to the world. The cover art, ‘endpaper’ design and introduction were all added more recently in order to flesh out the whole package and I’ve annotated the images with brief contextual notes to help jog the memory.

Pandemic costs just £6 + £2.50 p&p (international shipping costs on request)
